Platform:any computer
Documentation:These codes have evolved from COPES and CONMIN.
A good user's manual also describing the methods comes with the programs
(Madsen and Vanderplaats, 1982, Vanderplaats, 1973, Vanderplaats and Moses, 1973).
Availability:from the company, educational discounts available
License:university site license
Code:users get the source code
Graphics:no
Discussion:This is an outstanding package for use in
engineering analysis and design. Since it has a heritage of over
twenty years of development dating back to CONMIN and COPES,
it is a very reliable and robust system. The interface is simple
and a variety of optimization options are available.

Discussion:This appears to be a good product, although
I have not used it. It includes a number of optimization algorithms,
for both continuous and discrete optimization problems. A particularly
strong point is the graphical user interface
control. This feature is available on workstations,
but on the PC version.
