Aldus PageMaker
a desktop publisher that allows you to create your own page layout (template). PageMaker also allows you to import objects into your document from other programs or to create them using drawing tools within PageMaker.
Bookends Pro
a database program for references.
Canvas
a graphics package that provides the tools to create professional graphics for use in technical illustrations, engineering drawings, and presentations.
Fetch
a file transfer program. It uses the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and allows a networked computer to transfer files with any connected machine that supports FTP.
Kaleidagraph
a data analysis and graphic presentation program that allows you to enter data, create, and customize up to 16 plots at one time, and apply curve fits to the data.
Mathcad
a document-style interface that allows you to enter, edit, and format equations, and then solve them symbolically or numerically. Mathcad allows you to place text around your equations and to create two and three dimensional plots of their solution.
MathType
a mathematical equation editor that allows you to build up complex equations using simple point-and-click techniques, and then paste them into your documents. MathType works in conjunction with word-processors, page layouts, or graphics program.
Microsoft Excel
a spreadsheet where you can manipulate, calculate, and analyze data. Spreadsheet data can be presented visually using Excel's two and three dimensional plotting routines.
Microsoft Fortran
executes and compiles programs in Fortran language.
Microsoft QuickBasic
executes and compiles programs in BASIC language.
Microsoft Word
a word-processing program with many features including the ability to import spreadsheets or charts.
Netscape
a web browser that is an improvement on MOSAIC
PowerPoint
a graphics software package that helps you to create professional-looking presentations.
Telnet
command used to communicate with another host using the TELNET protocol. A host is the official name, an alias, or the Internet address of a remote host.
